Non lontano da Bolzano, in un contesto di morbidi pendi coltivati a vite, baciati dal sole e ancora immersi nella quiete sul Monte di Mezzo fra San Michele e la piana dell’Adige, ad un’altitudine compresa fra i 450 e i 550 metri slm, si estendono i vigneti della cantina Girlan.

Ghiaiosa e argillosa, la terra qui è arida. I vigneti, ben ventilati e che, a seconda dell’inclinazione del pendio, sono esposti a temperature più o meno calde, forniscono condizioni ideali per produrre una grande varietà di uve. Queste caratteristiche uniche ci consentono di produrre vini incomparabili, dal carattere individuale e marcato. Vini che conquistano soprattutto per la loro freschezza minerale, la struttura chiara e decisa e la grande autenticità.

La Cantina Girlan nasce nel 1923 in un maso storico del XVI secolo. All’epoca, 23 viticoltori posero la prima pietra di quella che sarebbe poi diventata l’azienda attuale. Attualmente la Cantina Girlan conta 200 soci viticoltori, dislocati nelle migliori zone produttive dell’Oltradige e della Bassa Atesina.

Trattmann Pinot Noir Riserva 2018 Girlan è un vino le cui uve provengono dai migliori e più vecchi vigneti delle sottozone Mazon e Girlan. Questi vigneti sono particolarmente adatti grazie alle condizioni microclimatiche e all'età delle viti, il quale hanno mostrato per decenni. Il colore è rosso rubino con leggere sfumature granate. Profumi intensi e complessi con sentori di frutta matura, ciliegia e marasca; si presenta molto delicato, vinoso con un'eccellente struttura e persistenza. Particolarmente adatto agli arrosti, selvaggina ed ai formaggi piccanti.

 Situated not far from Bolzano, amidst gently rolling slopes, sunny and still tranquil on the Monte di Mezzo between San Michele and the Valle dell’Adige, at an altitude of 450 to 550 meters above sea-level, lie the majority of our vineyards in Girlan. The soil is gravelly and argillaceous and low in nutrients.Heavy temperature fluctuations between day and night – especially in the autumn – give our wines a fine, distinct bouquet, and enhance their durability.

These are the ideal prerequisites for a wide range of grape varieties. The unique characteristics of our terrain enable us to produce incomparable wines having a distinctive and pronounced character. In particular their mineral, fresh, and clear structure and authenticity set them apart.

23 winegrowers with a total vineyard area of 25 hectares join forces and found Cantina Girlan in a historic farmstead from the 16th century. The founding chairman of the cooperatives is Johann Kofler Krautschneider. Behind the agricultural business "Cantina Girlan" are primarily 200 winegrowing families, who produce grapes on about 220 hectares of vineyards with a lot of commitment and motivation.

Trattmann Pinot Noir Riserva 2018 Girlan is produced by grapes come from best-suited and oldest vineyards in Mazon and Girlan. These vineyards are particularly suitable due to their microclimatic conditions as well as the age of the vines which they have proven over decades. The wine has a ruby red color with slight tones of grenadine and an intense and complex bouquet with notes of ripe fruit, cherry and maraschino. The wine presents itself elegant yet rich with a delicate taste and an excellent tannic framework and persistence. Particularly suitable for roast meets, game and spicy cheeses.
